I know you are not supposed to advertise here so I will be subtle. I have just blown £6.99 inc postage on a USB charger unit for the car's cigar socket. What's special about this one (apart from having two USB outputs) is that it tells you the battery voltage as well as cycling through the ambient temperature and what current your USB is delivering. If nothing else it's useful to see how the battery voltage varies so gives you some idea of state of charge and that the alternator is working OK. I know you can do this with a voltmeter but more difficult when you are driving along and you can easily plug this into another car. Available from an online shop that claims to be open 7days. Apologies to the mods if I have overstepped the mark.
