If it aint broke don't fix it

So having carried all the ten year servicing items, Diff oil/gearbox/PTU Cambelt Etc. The only thing left was change the steering fliud and resevoir which I duly did, on inspection of the old resevoir once it was off I got a dentist mirror and out of curiosity looked at the internal filter and it was absolutly clean no debris whatsoever ! ! I am the second owner and pretty sure it was never changed before I owned it, so put it on the shelf as a spare. 2013 FL2 XS.

IIRC, the filter issue was weld splatter in the reservoir on the older models,
but it's always a dam good idea to include an internal filter at each service schedule. Thumbs Up DAVE.

Pumped the old fluid out, fitted the new resevoir connected the inlet pipe to it capped off the outlet put return pipe into container filled it up with fresh (green) fluid jacked up front so wheels off the ground ignition on turned steering wheel left to right untill all the old fluid was flushed out refitted the return pipe and then started engine soon as you do this the fluid drops so will need to top up a litre does the job. There are Utube Vids on this. Also taking the headlight out gives much much better access to the pipe conections 2013 FL2 XS.
