OS X El Capitan

All this talk of Windows 10 had me wondering when Apple was planning on tweaking Yosemite. El Capitan is due out in the Autumn and sounds good. Thumbs Up

Yosemite came out last Autumn and El Capitan provides upgrades to that. Purchased my MacBook in 2011 and it came with OS X Snow Leopard. I eventually upgraded to Mountain Lion, then Mavericks and currently on Yosemite. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I always prefer to wait till all the creases have been ironed out. I use my iMac for work so prefer not to mess with it if it's working right. Did upgrade my MacBook though , like the fact that I can answer calls and have a conversation through the MacBook.

Due to Macs and MacBooks being so expensive to buy, I do not plan changing mine for another until it dies. It has 8GB of RAM which is plenty, I make regular Time Machine backups to a 2TB hard drive but more importantly, I upgraded to SSD. Fastest it has been in the 4 years of ownership and handles every upgrade with ease and no sign of slowing down. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Just completed the upgrade to El Capitan. Not sure what is new yet, it'll take some playing around with first.... LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

If you use Microsoft office for Mac think twice before you upgrade to El Capitan! Outlook will not work, it will crash every time and at the moment there is no fix.

There is a new version of Office for Mac being released shortly, when Office 2016 comes out.

Office for Mac 2016 is not much use right now if you need it for work. Pre release versions of 2016 are also unstable and crash loads of info via Google.

My MS Word has been crashing whenever I try typing since the last Yosemite update let alone El Capitan so I thought I would just go for it anyway. I don't use Outlook. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Any further update on El Capitan? I'm still running Yosemite on my Air, just wondered how people were finding it, might just stay put for now! 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

Office for Mac 2011 is now fixed and works fine so long as you install the latest update. I think there are still issues with office 2016.

I down loaded Office 2016 yesterday - I have access to the HUP (Home Use Programme) through work, so I can get office professional for under £10 - I will be having a play with it over the weekend.

I got my previous version that way, how do you go about getting 2016? Pay again using the same link? 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto
