Fault codes on new purchase

Hi there, (again)

Battery seems to be ok now but after reading the fault codes to try to find out why the terrain module errors 2 mins after start up I read the codes and I am reading

ABS control errors
L and R wheel speed sensor errors
Invalid data from rear diff control module
Control module config incompatible
Invalid data from instrument panel control module

Any idea where I start looking

Main error on start (after 2 mins ) is terrain control error reduced traction.

Where do I start looking

Love the car but hate the problems

Many thanks in advance

Clive

If your wheel speed sensors are faulty that will give you the ABS Fault and that will disable the Terrain Response, I'd have thought.

But I find that having both wheel speed sensors faulty is not normal (or is this a common fault)????

How can I check them????

Clive Question

That's a fair point. I'd check to see if the front sensors are swappable with the rears (maybe someone else can answer that) and then swap them around to see if the failure follows the sensors.

The 'Control module config incompatible' sounds a bit ominous though.

Sorry haven't got you very far.

Rather than sensors or module problem, maybe a plug / socket continuity problem on the CANBUS. Break and remake all associated wiring plugs first.

Wherever there is a sensor or module there will be a plug/socket, just look around the transmission and wheel areas and clean them by pulling apart and remaking them. It's the cheapest first option.

Best advice I can give you is take it to a garage because if you do not know where to start looking chances are you will do more damage & end up paying more for repair.

Do you have the dtc's rather than text? 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Yes,
when I read the system and look at the DTC's for the All terrain module I have: (beginning with the oldest and ending with the latest)

U0136-87 Lost communication with differential control module - rear
U0415-94 Invalid data received from ABS control module
u0437-94 Invalid data received from rear differential control module

There are others but the oldest is a historic fault and the other 2 intermittent

U0136-87 would suggest a dead short, broken wire etc on diff module circuit. Can't see earth strap or battery being your problem so I would start with Checking fuses FE2 and FE42 in engine bay. Hopefully Alex will come along and provide some knowledge 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Ok will check the fuses in the morning.

Thanks everybody for your help, it helps that somebody answers whether or not their answer is correct.

Will let you know tomorrow the state of the 2 fuses
