Got the old girl booked in to have the whole rear tinted this weekend, I mentioned over the phone about the front tints. He said that I could have 70% light through tints (by law) but due to the car being a 2010 plate they may well be this as factory. Has anyone had that grade of tint added to the front two? If so is it worth it? Is it noticeable? Cheers.

Pretty sure the fronts are at maximum from the factory (like most cars these days).

Touchy subject dont think you will get many forum members openly saying they have front tints The only LR that has clear class is the Defender and that could have tint applied on the fronts to allow 70% of light to pass. Your FL2 will allow 72% light transmission on the fronts. If you drop your window you will see a light green tint. A clear tint would bring this down to 69% and technically illegal. However certain manufactuteres cars were reading between 65-68% so technically the GLASS is illegal.

Yeah that's what the bloke on the phone said. I'll see what he says when I get down there then, can't imagine that grade would make much difference anyway tbh. Thanks

The standard glass as it is is already is 70% I think?

The thing is they state, well the police do when they stop you, tinting the front screen and front side windows reduces visiblity.
But for anyone inside it doesnt really much you can still see out ok and hardly notice its tinted, what they mean is it reduces them and the speed cameras seeing who is driving it.
Maybe we should all wear a burka?? it has the same effect as tinting the windows, and they cant see how ugly your wife is

You obviously haven't driven in the dark with tinted (below 70%) windows. Tints at night are a nightmare.
