Another similar thing a couple of weeks ago. Hope it's not a design flaw!

Hopefully the Freelander is not going to have the same trouble as the Vauxhall Zafire ( Zafira ) surely even if one fire occurs Landrover should have said vehicle checked over fully, a full investigation should start right away.

Lets hope they do it by the book and not put peoples lives in danger, I an sure they will Shocked

I believe that Public Service vehicles like that often have a lot of extra electrical kit such as h/d alternators, inverters, extra batteries etc. That could be the problem there. I've decided to stop being a good example and will now just be a terrible warning.....
2008 TD4HSE - gone but much loved.
2014MY SD4 Metropolis - very much loved.

Yes but on the other hand it will have been professionally fitted and to a high standard.

Here's a link to my 'incident'

Having read the linked thread above about call backs etc I was wondering about this question below please

Hi Guys just been reading this after a recent post of another FL burning into flames, do all FL2 have the above PTC heater, I have a late 57 plate FL2 diesel 2.2 any or all advice welcome as it seems it could have been the PTC that is the cause ? cheers

Fire Hazaard??

I recently serviced my FL2 and having read about the recall issue involving fire hazards and out of curiosity I removed the engine cover just to make sure all was in order.....and to my surprise I found it was definitely not!!.....seems I have had a stowaway!......who has been collecting combustible material and eating insulation all in a very warm environment!....far from ideal! Sad ......hopefully evicted!

Probably a rapid response vehicle. Carries paramedics to the scene and stabilises casualty until ambulance or helicopter arrives. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Sadly it's a familiar sight to me. This is a link to my fire incident http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic26479.html caused by the engine cooling fan control module overheating and catching fire.

JLR's response left a bit (in fact everything) to be desired. Censored
