Hi,
I have started having the battery drain problem others have had on my 2007 TD4 GS - only none of the suggestions as to the source of the problem apply - been through the other posts I could find here. Initially I thought the battery was at fault so replaced it to no avail.

If I remove the 15a fuse from the panel under the glove box battery keeps it's charge. This fuse appears to be for the sound system (standard one without bluetooth), however when I re-insert it the radio has not lost its channels or the clock lost its time? Sometimes the radio screen just illuminates - nothing else, then returns to normal later. Also, if I shut down the car normally the radio panel will still remain illuminated, so I know to remove the fuse.

I have tried the suggestions here, such as removing the battery to reset the system a few times with no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it an OEM radio or aftermarket? Sounds like it has a secondary source of power which would explain the drain No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

It's the OEM radio that came with the car.

The basic land rover radio has a known fault where the amplifier remains live without the key in the ignition or radio switched on if you are in a quiet place you can hear the speakers hiss very quietly. Most owners who have the basic unit replaces them with better after market ones which is a easy diy job with the auto leads wiring harness adaptors and face plate adaptor.

thanks for that info will investigate if their is any sound from the speakers when the car is off...

Should I change the radio unit (CD400) for an aftermarket model, will the steering wheel controls, parking sensors and aux input still work? Can you point me in the right direction for suggested models and guides as to how to do the conversion?
