Back in the day, when I worked in an electrical store, DeLonghi were the frontrunners. May still be the case today... LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Tefal all the way....they are the masters of fryers, and have been for 30+ years IMHO. Foraging near Gaydon....

I used to have a fryer had filters in and still stunk if you did get the tiny left over breadcrumb out, used to have a filtered drainer so once cooled you drained the oil to filter it out

Have has one of these for years, now on the second and it is now about 8 years old, only uses about a litre of oil with a dep and shallow end, so the basket rotates the food in and out of the oil. Need to drain and clean every 10 or so uses, but are nonstick. They seem to last so long the spares are no longer available when they die.

Tried deep fat fryers and found the cleaning/smell/unhealthy aspect too much for me.

Whatever make, get one with a stainless steel interior, non-stick ones gunk up and you destroy the non-stick finish de-gunking it BTDIGTTS. |

Disagree with Actifry - does not compete with proper chips. If you like what it produces that is fine but I miss real chips.

Suppose it depends on what youre used to, if youve only ever had awful chips you dont know what youre missing until you try a good one.

I would have said a Tefal Pro, which has an oil filter and drain, so that you can not only re-use the oil, but also dishwash the majority of the fryer, however they do not seem to make that model any more.

Just buy a pan and a basket, that way you can toast the marshmellows when the house goes up in flames Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |
