noise from engine

ive got a whiney sound coming from the engine it seems to be getting louder
what could it be

no its about 2000rpm and gets louder the more you rev

Try turning the air conditioning off so it can be eliminated. They do make a whining noise when low on gas. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

the a/c doesn't seem to be working as good as before I will have to get it topped up
