Hopefully someone will be able to help before I fold and take it to a specialist |

I would say the start stop is a battery issue. I have a late 2010 facelift and my start stop hasn't worked in ages and the battery was tested and isnt holding a charge properly. Haven't got round to changing it.

Strange that they've both started doing the same thing at almost the same time |

I tried that line with the dealer who broke the news about the battery. Not interested as batteries can easily have a lifespan less than 4 years if not looked after. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Good point PM. The one I looked up a while back was the right type. Places like Halfords online checker don't give the right ones. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

yeah I'll be going for another Yausa high crank battery, and when I was pricing up the one for the Defender I did notice that they did stop-start versions too |

Are you trying to change the settings whilst on the move, hence the padlock |

Ask any knowledable dealer and they will tell you how intermittent stop/start really is |
