Was that you mate? I couldn't tell the colour of the car it was so dirty. I thought it would be too early for you to be back from the Cape. And you've taken the scenic route coming via the mountains too. Smile

I'm yet to venture out that way but really keen too. Could recommend a newbie waypoint or short itinerary please? Keen to see some dust!

If you are talking about the Blue Mountains then I can recommend a very good day trip from Sydney with some easy tracks, creek crossings, great scenery, nice lunch spot and a good walk. It's the Six Foot track down to Bowtell's Swing Bridge. It starts out past Hampton on the Jenolan Caves road and you drive the famous Six Foot track all the way down to the Cox's River. The swing bridge is very interesting and is a 1 kilometre walk from the camp ground next to the river. There are alternate ways out, via Gibraltar rocks is a little more difficult. No real risk of damage to the car but unnerving if you are a novice at 4wding.

This is where I went some time ago, really great spot for off roading, with plenty of side roads and choices where to go. There are also some camping spots too.
