Tragic but it is not the first time or the last. Not saying this was the cause but know a guy who bypassed the interlocks to get the job done quicker so he could have an early finish.
but it did not work out that way.

According to the Financial Times today the guy was actually setting the robot up. It seems that part of the safety zone is defined by software and not just the physical safety cage, looks like he perhaps typed the wrong settings in.
Surprisingly there are very few of this type of accident as the number of people working in factories has been reduced due to the increased use of robots! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
