Scotland 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue
New owner (Finally!)

After owning more FL1's than I care to mention, we sold the wife's latest TD4 yesterday, and off to view an 07 GS today. One way or another, she wants an FL2

She would ideally like an Auto, but they seem to be few and far between up this way at our budget, and this manual one seems to fit the bill, other than the colour. She doesn't like silver...

But, she would rather walk than drive my Freelander! Neutral

Can't really say I blame her. It's not your typical 1.8 anymore Laughing

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Caspian Blue

They aren't really comparable cars.
I had a very late 2005 FL1 Td4 which we kept for 4 trouble-free years. The 57-plate FL2 GS we have now is worlds apart. It's faster, smoother and quieter to drive. Tows our 1450kgs caravan better than a Td5 disco we had for 2 nightmare years.
With hindsight now, I would have gone for an auto FL2 but the manual is OK. I just worry a bit about fragile clutches and DMFs. 4 figure repair bills a bit scary too ! FL2 2007 57 GS
D2 2005 Td5 - gone and not missed
FL1 2005 Td4 - gone and missed

I had the same problem when I bought my MY07. The auto was about £1000 more expensive, and I eventually bought a much higher spec manual for the same price. It's a good gearbox, and I had no complaints. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.
