Blow out

had a front LH side blow out at 70mph
I'am so impressed with the fl2, no problems at all bang and lots off noise till I got to a safe place to change wheel
Not even a little pull on the steering wheel
I have had blow outts on other cars and had a fight to keep in lane
I was thinking off swooping my car for a defender 110 or pos a 90, I must have been mad
What a car soooooooo impresed

not with different rolling diameters, probably not wise. There will be 6mm difference in diameter, plus the difference in any tread wear with the other tyres... it's a pita....

so 13mm diam increase over a 235/65. Plus any wear on the remaining 235s would increase that. What does it mean - well imo the wheel centre would essentially be at different angles than the others and increase wear on diffs. Can you risk it? Maybe, but I would be careful given the history of diffs and transfer boxes.

Alternative is to see if you can find a part worn for the time being and upgrade four at the same time later.

Fairly sure different size wheels on the same axle are illegal.

We all know that space savers are a different size and all that, but it is worth checking the legalities for something so trivial.

I thought that the 235 was the width and the 65 the tyre height therefor shouldn't the rolling diameter be the same? But it would be 10mm wider, have a larger footprint therefor more resistance. If you wanted to replace 2 at a time Id say it would be best practice to make sure the tyres are the same size on an axle, but could be different front to rear.

the 65 is a ratio of tyre width to side wall.

So 235 x 0.65 = 152.75
245 x 0.65 = 159.25

Yeah you might be able to do one axle at a time and get away with it, but I have never tried it myself.
