I have the Meridian 11 speaker audio system on my MY13 FL2 SE.

I don't have a reverse camera, but would like to connect a rear camera to the Meridian system for display on the built-in 7" display.

Any ideas ?

Also, I looked at that website and they seem to refer to touchscreen systems with navigation.

I don't have navigation, not sure whether that is a prerequisite.

I have just the meridian sound system, no navigation just connect the interface and the green Fakra connector to the purpple Fakra connector behind the touchscreen, and the rear camera.For the power supply just connect the red wire red wire in the fuse box to a power supply after contact.

When reverse gear is passing you hear the bip and you have the picture

I presume that the power supply that you refer to is for the camera.

I guess that the "black box" also need a power supply, or does it get power through the connectors ?

Sounds simple, the difficult part seems to be to get to the back of the radio display.

To access you have to remove the speaker cover and remove the 4 screws (red arrows)

If I may, just two more questions :

1) Does that particular system allow for additional video inputs, or is it just for the rear camera ? Not sure that I need any more video inputs in this age of tablets that can do anything, but just wondering (maybe a blind spot camera ?).

2) The wiring at the back, and from the back to the front seems a bit daunting in terms of trying to get it nice and neat. How did you get the video cable to the front, do you have any tips ? I was maybe hoping that the wiring harness would already have such a cable ? And the power cable from the rear camera to the reverse light, any specific tips there ? Is there a fuse specifically for the reverse lights, so that one can pick up the power there, is that what you are showing on your one photo ?

I think that I will be going ahead with this project, and that is why I am starting to ask very specific questions.

Hopefully others are also picking up some tips.

I don't know why Landrover didn't just make the rear camera a standard feature on models with a front display, after all, it is a safety feature and the marginal cost is very low.

Looking at other manufacturers rear cameras seem to have become a standard feature with many of them.

1) The interface it's just for the rear camera.
2) for the connection of the camera you have just 3 connection one red wire to the fuse box, the black wire at the mass of the vehicle and the RCA yelow behind the touchscreen
for the video cable, just move under the plastic bottom of the doors without dismantling
It was the first time I did it there is no reason you can't do it .
i buy the Freelander Workshop manuel it's an good help to know the different elements of the car
no connection between the reversing lights and camera is required , it is the interface that handles
Land Rover wants to pay expensive, in fact, the options I have no handsfree being forced to take navigation

OK, so I received the remainder of the parts this morning.

The camera has been installed and works when I test it with a little monitor.

But now I am completely stuck, I just cannot remove the dash centre speaker cover without damaging the car.

I have tried all the tricks with special tools, credit cards, etc, but nothing works.

And that prevents me from getting to the back of the display and making any further progress.

Any ideas ?

it's a little hard at first but you'll need a tool not a tournevis.Il are 3 fasteners, toward the windshield , one on the right and left. Or another way to do this is to go through the glove box but it should be removed . I'd pictures tomorrow

Ok, thanks everyone, job has been done and all is working properly.

I got someone help me take the speaker cover off.

Reverse camera works exactly like a factory installed camera.

I used the kit referred to earlier in the thread, and a camera (off eBay) that fits into the licence light slot.
