MY09 - Come on Landrover! New brochure and configurator?

Even though FL2s ordered after June? are with the specs and options of the FL2 2009 model year there has been absolutely no change in the landrover websites to incorporate the changes and amendments to the 2008 model. The freelander brochure still relates to April 2008 specs and there are no details and photos of the updated options and specs! Confused

Furthermore, the accessories builder still has the old colours (no lago grey and the martinique blue) and the sports styling pack cannot be incorporated with colours which are allowable (eg Alaska white and santorini black).
Very few sites (e.g landrover new zealand and south africa) have incorporated the new interior coulour Almond and the new trim (satin silver) in there sites and it appears that the photos of these options have not been updated...No site has incorporated the new exterior colours

In order to find out what new specs and options I can have on a new order I had to go to an independent uk dealer site (which lists tha main changes but again no photos and details)
http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/equipment/Detail.aspx?deriv=35367

I think the marketting team of landrover should work more consistently to keep up to date with the model changes and make ordering a new car more exciting by keeping potential customers well informed of their options and potential choices.

I don't know whether you agree with me. Thoughts Question

I managed to find a pdf file on the net that describes the options for the FL2 MY09.

Unfortunately it's in a language I don't know! Rolling Eyes

It is apparent however that new packs are being introduced like the style pack and the style plus package.

Same pics as spotted by Northern Monkey (the only ones on the net unfortunately but slightly larger and better quality) hinting at some of the updated features can be found here.

In today's technology driven environment it seems quite pathetic that theLR website can't be bang up to date.

Expereicne of buying my current car was that I certainly could not rely on the dealer for information, so the LR website is the only other 'official' option.

Very disappointing Big Cry

Still no updates on the websites of LR regarding the 2009 MY. Sad

Anyone have any idea what the leather tundra/almond combination will look like?
Should we assume it will look the same as the cloth tundra/alpace combination?

By the way...from what little info we do have up to now ...it appears that all MY09 FL2s will be fitted with the perforated napoli leather pack if the "leather option" is selected. Previously this was part of the premium pack available to HSEs. Correct me if I'm wrong.

From the very little photos we've seen (see links above), it appears that the interior looks much nicer. It seems to me that the dashboard material is fairly darker and gives a more executive feel to the interior...

Guys,

Tundra is a very pale green with a hint of grey, and almond is a white cream colour again with a hint of grey.

I apologise that I have not got anything customer facing that I can send to you at the moment, but most dealers should now have their 09 vehicles in stock and available to show you 'in the flesh'.

Just to confirm that the leather seats on FL2 are performated (even upgrading on SE, XS etc), however you are correct in saying the Premium is different. The Premium pack had a slightly different design but was still perforated.

As mentioned, as soon as I have something useful to show you I will post it on the forum. In the meantime your local dealer should make some efforts to show you a physical vehicle.

Regards,

James Thumbs Up

Thanks James for the info Thumbs Up

Anyone know be any chance whether the XS model can be upgraded with the new Style Plus package and the approximate cost.

On the czeck excel sheet with MY09 specs (link in one of my previos posts) it appears that this upgrade is only allowable to the SE model. This is highly unlikely though...

Just had our first FL2 in Martinique Blue arrive! Sorry that it's still in it's wraps and it's a poor camer-phone image, but thought you may be interested!
