I'm on the look out for a jack as I've bought a spare wheel (hate mousse kits) and found this whilst trawling the net

I use the small trolley jack and with the jack sitting on a couple of thick wooden plank offcuts. Works a treat and stops the jack digging a hole in your tarmac too. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I'm after something to keep in the car, the trolley jack at home is more than up to the job, had it years.

Does anyone use a trolley jack pad? Bit like an ice hockey puck with a slot cut in it. Sits on the jack saddle and locates on the sill lifting point. Might be better than the chunk of wood I currently use. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory |

To be sure you can jack the car up high enough in all conditions IE with all the holiday luggage etc. on board you really need a 3 tonne trolley jack.

As do Hell-frauds, in their Advanced Professional range. I bought one last Easter half price for 」50. Given that it's just around the corner, it might be worth holding out for a week or two. It says that it lifts to approx. 50cm, but I've had it up to 60cm no bother. Foraging near Gaydon....

The standard jack is a Volvo one, and according to an old post on here somewhere is surprisingly cheap, even from a LR dealer. Although it looks flimsy the standard jack is fine for changing a wheel. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
