Got Leather

Had the usual cloth trim in my GS but just bought a full HSE leather interior ie seats & door cards.
Collected it this morning and retro-fitted it all this afternoon.
Just plug n play and all electrics are working. Very Happy

Decided to keep my grey door handle covers as opposed to the bronzed one on the HSE - suits my FL2 better.
Was delighted that I was able to keep my centre armrest/cubby box - didn't reckon that would be possible with the seats armrests, but operates just fine.

Whilst doing the conversion I noted I had footwell light sockets in each front footwell, no bulbs or other light fittings, just the holders.
So lined it with aluminium tape and fitted two bulbs and I've now got two operating footwell lights. Very Happy

So here's a few iphone pics of front & rear, also of the dash, because I reckon the alu dash trimming really suits the black leather.

Big thanks to JimNI for all his help in this Thumbs Up

Thanks Paul, yes FL2 feels real nice now as I'm getting it the way I want it.
And with the leather it now gives the 'quality feel' that was missing before.

I do have a little chuckle to myself when I pop over to the Disco3 site and I read of all the woes and expenditure of the D3 & D4.
The FL2 is way more economical and not costing me anywhere near what the D3 & D4 did.

Yep, very happy with it Thumbs Up

That looks great and good to know its an easy swap, really compliments the rest of your well thought out modifications.
Arm rests front and rear are the only things missing on the gs spec in my opinion.

Looks great Ron - Just a shame you beat me on a well known auction site - and JimNI got the other set! Suppose I'll just have to play the waiting game until another set comes up and this time be a bit quicker on hitting the bid button.

Was it that simple with the electrics - did you not have to update the ccf? and what about the heated seats aspect?

Super job Ron - hardest bit for me was figuring how to get the rear seats out but once I found that video it was a breeze.
Pete - plug and play for Ron because he had heated cloth. If changing from standard cloth ccf change required or switched live feed run in (cigarette lighter probably best option for this) 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Cigarette lighter best option Shocked
What is the power loading with both seats on, I suspect it is a fair bit more than the capacity of the cigarette lighter feed.
The wiring, if not suitable, will provide more heat than the seats Whistle

Taz - seats run off 5A fused circuit so I guess less than 60w. The cable to cigarette lighter is larger dia. Than that in seat harness and in fairness likely hood of operating both seats for prolonged period is very low. However, as a belt and braces approach an inline fuse could be fitted.
We are only talking about power for adjustment - heating is not in the equation. It's a whole different scenario 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

I'm sure the fuses for the hearted seats in my car are 40amp each... Maybe the 5amp is for a module?

As I said - we are only dealing with seat movement NOT heating!
Heating wiring is not in loom for cars supplied without heated seats! 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Jim / Ron - when you remove the rear seat backs, did the whole of the boot side trims have to be removed to get the long supporting bar at the bottom of the seat backs, out of the FL2? I know you have to gain access to bolts at the ends of the bar thro the little pop-out trim panels, to the front of the seat backs and can see all the bolts underneath the bar.

Pete NO, you don't take that supporting bar out ...... it stays put.
You remove the little hatch on each side, undo the torx bolt then lever back the latch rearwards (which is over the seat pin and is part of the mechanism that the bolt is threaded into).
With a bit of upward pressure on the seat it'll just pop up.
Jim has a short YT video I'm sure he'll post for you.
But leave that bar in place ...... the chap I bought the seats from had removed them with the bar.
