Carjacking

http://news.sky.com/video/1421113/car-owne...d-by-thief

Ok, I have a few things to say about this. Firstly, I feel very sorry for this poor woman for being subjected to this ordeal. I also hope that this guy gets sent down for many years (an arrest has now been made apparently).

The fact he did this is disgusting but it is also appalling that some motorists appeared to just drive past the poor woman.

However, I must say that when are people going to learn?! Yes, you should be able to de-ice your car without this happening BUT we have to take the world as it is, not as we'd like it to be!

Time and time again the police warn people about leaving their cars unattended but as my dad says, there are far too many members of the 'It'll never happen to me brigade'

My approach to de-icing is firing up the heated windscreen and scraping the side windows. Never leaving the car unattended. Once inside, the doors get locked. I also keep an eye out all around me for anyone lurking. You just never know when some scumbag is poised to pounce. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Yes, I couldn't believe the car that drove around her and left her lying in the road. There is someone on the Discovery forum who just had their D3 nicked the other day when they were warming it up, and they were just on the passenger side, so even that isn't safe.

Exactly. They leap out of nowhere. I was keeping a very close eye on a guy lurking across the road the other day. I was so suspicious of him that I even checked down the side of our house for anyone lurking in readiness. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Scumbags is too nice a word for them, and that is just the drivers who drove past the woman without stopping! We should teach citizenship or community spirit in schools. That is awful.

Quite common. It's called 'Frosting' down here. Carried out not by carjackers but frostjackers.

No, he was on the drivers side putting a bag in the drivers side passenger door, whilst the passenger door was open the Censored nipped in.
