CG.

I missed it last night also as I was out cleaning the FL2 until 21:00. It's available on BBC iPlayer though if you're on broadband. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer

Loved the "How economical is a supercar when thrashed on the track' feature.

One and a bit miles to the gallon for the Ferrari !!! Shocked

Makes me feel a bit better

CG Repeated on Friday on TV (i think)

I was supprised too at the Ferraris performance, I think i'll have to get the Lambo as the Audi is just a fast Audi.

I was supprised at James May, saying "a quick call to Roy Castle and the records in the bang" a bit tactless to say that when Roy Castle dies in 1994 after a long battle with cancer.

Yeah he is a bit of a Censored though, trying to be as funny as the other two.

Mind you Clarkson was a bit ott last night, slagging off dog eating Koreans and telling people how easy it would be to steal a petrol tanker etc etc.

Yes I saw that as well, it occured to me that as well as the Prius and the M3 running round the track they could have had a FL2 and the way the other two were crawling round I wouldn't have been surprised if the the FL2 would have been even more economical.

Imagine the slogan"SAVE THE PLANET..BUY A LANDROVER" Thumbs Up

its pretty sad that in the next 50 years or your childrens lifetime they wont have petrol or diesel cars.

We can lean on our walking sticks puffing on our pipes and say "Yep, I member the time my Freelander did 20 mpg...."

Did you guys miss the fact that at the start of the Prius vs M3 report. Clarkson mentioned that a review shows that in the long term the Land Rover Discovery is better for the environment that the Prius?

This he said is due to some of the nasty substances involved in making the batteries and shipping those same substances around the world to process them. Then of course to dispose of the at the end of the cars life.

I don't agree with the fuss about CO2, can't belive that cars/factories etc producing CO2 are the ones causing the damage, and that the reduction in rain forests etc. aren't having an effect. But there we go, I won't start, because I only have 1 hour for lunch, and not enough time to get it all off my chest.

Buuutttttt.......

I heard, can't remember where, so can't quote it, that the CO2 it takes to make a car, is much greater than what it gives out over its lifetime, therefore, buying a 20 year old land rover, and running it on petrol giving out loads of fumes, is a whole load better for the environment than scrapping it and buying a new car which produces very little CO2 when driving. And as someone further up the message said, our FL2s will be around for a lot longer than newer cars, that'll be worthless, ans resigned to a scrapyard in 10 years time.

Just got the latest LRO magazine, and someone has already restored an early Freelander, so you can imagine more going the same way.

Hold on a second.......... that was a long climb down from that soap box....... back on the ground Whistle Whistle

I've never understood how they calculate CO2 in tonnes? more C02 seems to come out of cars than fuel goes in.

Anybody here got a physics degree or two to explain a little? At work
