Sat Nav + Speed Cameras

I came across this site for the download of speed cameras onto Sat Navs
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?...patibility

If you go down to Land Rover it looks as if you can download the speed cameras onto the disc.
Has anyone tried it?

Not possible - the Land Rover system that the Pocket GPS World site refers to is the BMW system in the pre 2006 Range Rover.

Know what you mean though: I missed having both accurate speed reading and camera warnings so bought a Road Pilot MicroGo, hard wired it behind the dash and use some velcro to sit it on the far right of the dashboard as and when I use it. It does the only two things that the Freelander sat-nav does not do that I wanted it to and it is so small at about 1" square: http://www.roadpilot.com/MicroGo.asp

The only problem I have had is getting some velcro with sufficient adhesive to hold to the dash whilst not damaging the dash - at the moment I just have to keep cutting a new piece each month - any 'Velcro recommendations?'

Thanks for the suggestion - will see what 3M have to offer (as opposed to my roll of cheap Velcro from the local 'Pot of Gold' shop round the corner)

Have not used the window mount because the unit is so small and light that the mount is about 10 times the size of the unit and I wanted something small and inconspicuous which it is without the mount. It's also hardwired with a short-lead, enough lead for when it sits in the corner of the dashboard but not enough when using the window mount.

Cheers

DT

Why not put the navigator in the "huge dash hole" and fix it with the navigaator with the dash/ window mountings? There are plenty of photos showing that the navigator really fitts it that huge hole? FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER

Laughing Laughing

Thats what this whole threads about Laughing

The FL2 is a different system to the one on pocketgps, that ones for the old BMW satnav that use to be used so it will not work.

The type of files that the current one uses (i can't remember the name) has not been hacked yet to allow any modification. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
