Just a heads-up for anyone coming from the North and planning to use the M6/M69/M1 route and exiting at Coventry. There have been major roadworks at Tollbar Island for well over a year now, and the delays that it can cause are quite severe. Predominantly, this is where the A45 crosses the A46 at Coventry/Baginton, and exacerbated by the general JLR traffic volume heading to Allelsley/Whitley/Solihull plants in the mornings.

If you do come this way in early enough, and want to stop for breakfast, then the Long Itch Diner on the A423 comes highly recommended (Southam Road, Long Itchington, Warwickshire CV47 9QZ), and is only 15 minutes from Gaydon.
