Hi Phil, Guava ARE an official Land Rover service dealership (check Land Rover website) so you are getting the service done by LR mechanics. The only difference is Guava don't sell new cars in the UK and therefore don't have a flashy glass walled showroom. They will even provide a courtesy car as Hunters do. The only difference is the price!!! Thumbs Up

I never took my Freelander MK1 to a Landrover dealer for services. As long as the service is carried out to Landrovers specs they cannot void your warranty. The EU changed things a few years ago to stop Manufacturers grabbing you by the balls! Crying or Very sad A salesman from a leading SAAB dealer once said that when people buy an expensive car they expect the serviceing must be also expensive as so they get away with the high prices.

My FL2 will not be going to a Landrover dealer for servicing. Very Happy

Just make sure the dealer does a paint work check, though somebody on here said their dealer wanted £70 to do this.

Failure to do this check will through the warranty out the window Evil or Very Mad Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks for the memory jog, I must remember to ask about the paintwork check when I get the car serviced.

My Freelander MK1 used to cost around £80 for a service, I think the most was £105 one time. I never had a problem mechanically with the car but electrically is another story Sad fortunatly it was still under warranty at the time. Very Happy

Beware of these places that promise 'dealer servicing at non dealer prices'
I used to take my VW to a place like that for servicing. Had loads of probs compounded by the fact I later found out that they had been putting the wrong oil in on services. Shocked

The engine I had was supposed to use a PD specific oil and they had been bunging in Magnatec which wasnt even the same grade!

Might not seem important until you try to make a warranty claim....... Whistle
