I never took my Freelander MK1 to a Landrover dealer for services. As long as the service is carried out to Landrovers specs they cannot void your warranty. The EU changed things a few years ago to stop Manufacturers grabbing you by the balls! A salesman from a leading SAAB dealer once said that when people buy an expensive car they expect the serviceing must be also expensive as so they get away with the high prices.

Just make sure the dealer does a paint work check, though somebody on here said their dealer wanted £70 to do this.

Thanks for the memory jog, I must remember to ask about the paintwork check when I get the car serviced.

It's a friend who carries out all the servicing on the wifes and daughters car as well a mine. He is the service manager at one branch of a group of garages. He is very thoraugh and passionate about his work and has access to the diagnostic machines etc. |
