Deleted Post, as you try to help because the OP can't be bothered to use the search facility and then posts stupid replies.

Why not go back to the suppliers (Euro car bits) and ask them. Bet they can sell it but can't give any back up service. Should have gone to Dan @ Duckworths 11 GS Bali Blue

Maybe if there are no flow markings then the direction doesn't matter?

Even if it did, if you guessed you'd be right 50% of the time!

Look at the air flow marks on the stock one and see which way around the filter is then put the new one the same way around and fit Thumbs Up

That's what I did when I replaced to a carbon one Thumbs Up Freelander 57 plate XS Blue Auto

Just changed the pollen filter, which was the standard one with the one I bought for the climate control model as I have HSE. The service schedule said pollen filter was done 12 months ago before I bought the car, it was very dirty and was a thin paper type? Anyway, did mine this morning and it was a fiddle and had to take the glove box out so I could get both arms in to hold all of the wires out of the way, but happy because I know it is done! Couldn't have been that bad as no swearing involved! Very Happy

did mine earlier this year and in my opinion it had never been changed, and that's after three dealer services !!

they know that you are not going to check if it has been changed, and if you do they would just say sorry sir the mechanic must have forgot, bring it back in and we'll do it at no extra charge. ( same applies to all filters )

Hello all,
When i got my 57 gs 5 years ago took car in to indie dealer at 10000 mile and ask them to do a 30000 mile service.
Was not happy about service. 6 months later i did my own oil,air and pollen filter . the state of the pollen and oil filter led me to believe that these had not been changed ever.
Now 5 years later and thanks to members here i do all my own filter changes.

Also 2 days ago took car in for MOT which passed again no advisory's asked tester about emissions and told very low, I
put this down to adding 2 SO at every fill up. 57 reg GS leather seats panoramic sun roof

Normaly, there is an arrow showing the direction of the AirFlow, but the carbon site must facing to the cabins interior and the White side to the engine room.

There is also a great instruction Video on YouTube to Show how to Change the pollen filter: http://youtu.be/LtQAQEsL2dU

Mine wasn't as easy as it is shown in the video as I had wiring looms in the way so I had to take out the glove box to get another hand in to hold the wires back so the new filter would go back in without damage. Just another reason to do these jobs yourself because you know it is done right.
