I have driven through Morlaix - IMHO the farmers have done thousands of pounds worth of improvements! John

That's because they're all too busy to get out much! You have to milk cows twice a day, 365 days a year and if you are a small farmer you can't afford to employ anyone. Their kids all think it's a mugs game and do something less onerous for more money, weekends off and holidays. It will soon all be mega herds of 1,000 plus, all kept inside as that will be the only viable way to keep a dairy herd. The Labour government even removed the option of raising veal calves as another income so we now import our veal. Not sure what that did for animal welfare. Poor hard done English farmers with their £10s of thousand of combine harversters -huge great tractors- acres of farmland- big dutch barns and heavens knows what else beside not forgetting government handouts. Oh how sorry I feel for them! not.

Exactly, I know one who regularly boasts about the different handouts and subsidies he receives while he swans around in his RRS or relaxes in his new Conservatory. |

You can't milk a cow with a combined harvester. You could probably pluck a chicken with one though. ![]() LONG GONE - '55 Norton Dominator 99 SS cafe racer |
