Ok so my maths is rubbish so I'm hoping that someone can help me with this;

I've had my 2008 freel since July and covered 10000 ish miles. I have until the last few fills used 250ml of castrol actevo with each fill, filling when there is 1/4 left, I always use she'll or Bp standard diesel and on some long runs achieved 40mpg (calculated) but overall have averaged 32.9mpg (calculated although the trip computer is surprising accurate).

I have for the last 4 fills used she'll Nitro plus diesel with no 2t and my average mpg over these 4 full fills has risen to 35.9mpg (calculated).

Now the nitro plus is currently costing 120.9 and the shell standard stuff 114.9 with a bottle of 2t costing around £8, now I think I'm happy to carry on buying the expensive stuff as I'm not having to mess about with the 2t but can someone tell me what the difference in costs is going to be over the next 10000 miles using the Niro plus at 120.9 over 10000 miles at 35.9mpg and using normal she'll at 114.9 plus 2t at £8 per bottle at 32.9mpg.

How much in your 2T bottle for £8, 1L or 5L? FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

Well here is my attempt :-

10,000 / 35.9 = 278.552 gallons, convert to litres 278.552 x 4.54609 = 1266.32 litres

1266.32 litres at 1.209 a litre = £1530.98

10,000 / 32.9 = 303.95 gallons convert to litres 303.95 x 4.54609 = 1381 litres

1381 litres at 1.149 = 1586.76 plus the 2T

assuming fill at 3/4 tank each 250 does 50 litres or £8 for 200

1381 / 200 = 6.905 x 8 = £55.24 add that to the 1586.76 = £1642

So the good stuff is cheaper FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

They sell things by the litre and you work out your economy in miles per gallon? That's pretty nutty really. And the US doesn't even use the same gallon....the UK and US are a maths teacher's paradise.
