Noise on switch off

When I switch off there is a high pitched noise coming from the front under the bonnet.
It makes a noise, not very loud, like an electrical whine, for about 5 seconds, then goes off, then makes the noise again, then goes off etc etc.
I don't know how long this goes on for.

Could be the fan running on?

Any ideas?
Is this normal?

Why don't you see white dog poo anymore?........ Neutral

Read here somewhere that it's the hydraulic pump loading the aldex/transmission so that at the next start if you start quicly you have 4X4 power available imediately.
I would say it,s the car complaining that she has to go to bed early and not off-roading muddy enough. Laughing

Might also be the cooling fan still cooling off if the engine was hot but I still would say it's the Haldex pump. FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER

Tought you had this also on the Smart Laughing
Sorry meant HALDEX not ALDEX.
Don't worry in a couple of weeks you will get yours with all the nice noises we hear. As yours will be on petrol and petrol is bound to even quieter than our gentle diesel you will probably hear even more noises. Nothing to worry close the window and increase the audio volume Laughing FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER
