These 1.6 twin turbos knock out a fair amount of power and torque but the low down torque is abysmal, as you need the revs for the turbos, so not so good for towing. possibly the answer, and there are rumors that the way to go is one of these engines connected to an alternator, 4 electric motors, one on each wheel and a battery pack. for hills and take off the battery back up the alternator output, Electric motors have considerable torque, so you could have about 500Nm torque at the wheels with battery and a very economical diesel of about 140BHP that you either select if on a long distance run or towing, or mainly battery on commute. May be a touch heavy but better than the new Overlander hybrid which is not suitable for towing but probably OK for distance motoring on occasions. With LR 4WD software expertise I'm sure they could cobble one together my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Well realspeed I wish you all the best with your new vehicle whatever name is on the bonnet and from whichever country it was manufactured in under whomsoever's ownership. As indeed I do with your "Ski" retirement plans. Fair weather in all respects.
We are both of the same generation but however have not shared the same experiences with the Land Rover brand. Have a grand motoring career as you drive towards that final tank of fuel. Tally Ho.
