OxonPete My first FL2 was a SD4 of similar spec to yours. Throughout its time with me it suffered from this (Hesitation) Gearbox Flaring, only in the warmer weather and when driving gently. Above is my original post in this thread. I did not find a cure for the problem, but I did find lots of info by Goggling 'Flaring Aisin Gearbox' including this info on Auto Gearbox Learning. https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic40790.html?highlight=flaring PS I have had a quick look through this thread we are posting on and it seems to contain refences to almost all problems known to the FL2. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 84k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |

I've not posted on this a long time but two(?)+ years ago, I changed my fluid to the Aisin non synthetic recommended OEM JWS3309 and all judder went away. I would have some judder going uphill at slow acceleration before putting in the Aisin. The JWS3309 did it's job. I decided that it was time to just renew some(the judder was coming back) of the ATF and I cannot get the original fluid anymore. Mobil has a version but I can't source it locally anymore either and decide to go with the Valvoline equivalent synthetic. The judder uphill is still there but 50% milder. In the past I have tried the Toyota version and the Amsoil version but they also produced some judder. The original Aisin did fix my issue but I also did have much less mileage on 'her' at the time. |
