2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

235 55 19 General Grabber A/T's

Fancying a set of these as my old disco had a set in 18" and were pretty good.

Anyone have any experiences/problems of them on a FL2?

We keep both the AT and GT in stock, both doing very well on the Freelander 2. Andy.

Hi there I'm a thick freelander 2 owner lol,, and just purchased 2 brand new good year original tyres yesterday
I have since heard that tyres need to be replaced in full sets to not knacker the drive train ,,
Can anyone please shed any light on my dilemma ,, Please help !

The drivetrain is unlike the Freelander 1 where it was advised but the FL2 is not affected by different tyre wear on different axles.
It is good practice though for safety reasons to renew in pairs on axles.

The grabber at is a great tyre. Got a set on my disco and they done 40k and still got she'd loads of depth. Will get a set of the FL2 when the michelins run down.

If it means anything I went down to 18 inch wheels for a better selction and grabbed a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers. way better than the Toyo open country.

I have a set of GG AT's as a spare set for when we drive on anything other than tarmac. They are great at what they were designed to do and do a reasonable job of sticking to the road.

BUT

If I could go back in time and choose anything to use as replacements for my standard 'Road tyres' (I also have a set of 19" Continentals), I would choose a set of Winter Tyres. Whereabouts unknown stop going to follow stream until reach civilisation stop message ends

Just had a set of 18" AT2s fitted - great tyres. The car feels far more planted, particularly in the wet. Mind you, it's never a fair comparison when you change a set of well worn anythings for a set of brand new anythings is it? I always liked ATs on my Pajeros and liked their price even more - they were 15" wheels! Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

You say "18" AT2's" so if they are AT2's I guess you mean 255/55x18 or 255/60x18, but if it's AT's then it should be 235/60x18. Andy.

Thanks Andy - just checked and they are ATs. Still like them! A couple of friends have said that they look much better than the "road" tyres previously fitted (Wranglers), and suit the car better. I agree, of course. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

Did you ever go ahead with the purchase of 235 55 19 General Grabber A/T tyres

Looking at my continentals UHP, they won't be lasting much longer

the AT's look to have thick tread, so will last longer, but worse fuel economy, did you knotice a huge drop in MPG, i get 24mpg average, so can't afford to lose much more
