Headlamps on highbeam at ignition

Hi,

Does anyone on know if it is possible on a 2007 Freelander 2 to have the headlights on highbeam when turning the engine on? does the stalk always go back to the default position when the engine is turned off?

many thanks.

On my 2007 FL2, if the light switch is on when I turn on the ignition the lights return to what they were when the ignition was switched off. So yes it is possible to have the headlights come on in full beam mode.

In fact it's annoying with auto headlights as they come on on full beam if that's how they were left! From a time when dinosaurs weren't just confined to zoos!

It's quite simple really, when you turn off the ignition, the warning chime sounds reminding you that the lights are on until you take the key out of the dock.. If you don't turn them off then when you put the key back in the dock the chime sounds and warning message appears. The full headlamps don't come on until you press the start button.
