First post from a newbie! We just picked up our first Freelander2 yesterday (2009 model with 17k miles) and am hoping that someone can please steer me in the direction of a good local independent dealer to carry out servicing/general maintenance for us please?

I'm keen to go this route rather than use main dealers in order to hopefully get a better level of service at a more realistic price. If anyone can help me I'd be most grateful - we live just outside Canterbury so anything with 10-20 miles would be great - thanks!

17000 miles on a 2009 Elmer, that's really low mileage !! I thought mine was low at 27K

Yes 17k is low, the last Lady owner hardly used her, the body work and interior could be off a year old car and ontop of that we also got her at a very good price!

Thanks to everybody that has responded - I had a trawl through the site and there were lots of recommendations for RCV. My two nearest independents are Land Rover Solutions (Thanks Northern Monkey) and also Landmark near Challock - anyone used them and have anything good or bad to say about them please?

I used land roversolutions on the hersden industrial estate for my freelander1. They were very good. Parts were much the same price as barretts but labour was half the price.

There is a discovery specialist in whitstable (on the john wilson industrial estate, near b&q?). I understand that they are good too and do other land rovers.
