Rattles drive me nuts, anyone tried Rattlebuster?

Hi all,
My freelander developed some rattling in the dashboard (sounds like under the speaker in the middle) and I believe some in the front passenger door trim.
This drives me nuts and I can't seem to pin point the source.
I came across a product called Rattlebuster which is a CD that suppose to play some low frequency tones that cause the rattles to appear without driving.
Any experience with this product?

Cheers,
CK

Too much hassle to take it to the dealer just for this, spend a day, and then being told they couldn't reproduce the rattle. Worst case I'll wait till my next scheduled maintenance.
Was hoping there is something I can do myself...

I understand it practically helps you find loose things that you forgot of or are not secured enough.
If the rattle indeed comes from inside the dashboard then I think the dealers should have to have a look. I would not open the dashboard to have a look just in case I break something and then the dealer says it's all my fault.
Nevertheless it seems to work and might be worth a try just in case the rattle is not from the inside of the dashboard. FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER

If the rattle is quite loud ask someone to record the sound either on a camcorder or mobile phone and show it to the dealer, it wont pinpoint where its coming from but the sound might be enough to give them some pointers - plus it proves that you are not feeding them a load of Censored

Ive got an annoying knocking noise from the rear and when I took it in and took a mechanic out with me it hardly did it, its booked in for a whole day next week for them to try and find it - heres hoping!! Yawn Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

CK,

It was reviewed on the Chris Evens show on radio 2 some time ago, sounded (no pun intended!) like a good idea.

I decided it was worth a shot for some of the annoying noises in my motor. I would have bought a copy if it wasn't for their online ordering system relying on pay-pal, which failed, but only after I had entered my car details!!! having heard too many stories about pay-pal problems I stepped away from it.

So, can't give a recommendation form experience, but seems like good idea. Slowly but surely I've located most of my noises and cured then with bits of paper stuck into joints between panels.

What may be helpful is to get someone else to drive the car while you search for the noise. Using a high gear and low rpms can reveal some of the noises.

avtur, just like you I was able to locate and cure most of the rattles by stuffing paper bits and two-sided tape, but some just can't be located.
So... I took the plunge for the whole 10 quid Wink and got the CD.
I didn't spend too much time with it, but so far I was able to locate and cure 2 rattles that I suspect were some of the ones that were so annoying.
One that I thought was coming from the dashboard was actually coming from the center mirror assembly, the second was coming from the driver-side outside bottom plastic.
Not sure if this is all, but even just for these I think it was worth the 10 quid.

And boy does the car vibrate... Even if I can't find any other rattles, I'll just wrap the CD and give it to the MRS to have some fun in her car Thumbs Up

you should backup your rattlebuster cd and send copys out to other people to look after it (who may have rattles too) for a small donation towards cd's and P&P.

Hardly surprising CG, you never go out in it - you are spending too much time with that guy John Deere with his throbbing powerplant between your legs............................ How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?
