Problem starting

Had the FL2 just over a week.
Came out today, tried to start, just makes a clicking noise with all the dash lights flashing and HDC NOT AVAILABLE flashing on and off.
Phoned LR assistance and waiting for them to come out.

Not impressed so far!

I do not think HDC should be related with the start.

Turned out to be flat battery.......

Off to phone dealer now to see about software update.
Went to my local garage and got Mrs Arsey who simply couldn't look at the vehicle for over a week.

Great

I think you should ask them to check if there is no faulty contact. Just does not seam right falt batery and no reason about causes.
There was another thread here somewhere about flat batery beeing caused by not locking the car (with the remote) for a couple of days as the car goes to sleep only if you lock her. Otherwise a lot of the electronics stay on stanby and drain your battery but as you had her for only a week this should not be your case.
Sorry for happend to you, you must really be annoyed.
As yu must have seen on this forum just a couple of glitches to mend and we will have the first fault free car.
Just want to cheer you up. FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER

Snappa, Was that T&C up at Tullus Question

If it was then I might give them a wide berth when it comes to service time and take my business down to Perth instead.

Aberdeen.

Yeah I am taking it back to Perth on Thurs.

Have to say the salesman guy (in Perth) I spoke to was very apologetic and very helpful. Courtesy car as long as I need it, new battery if needed, any repair free of charge etc etc.

Just goes to show that although in theory any LR dealership should by rights be able to help you on warranty issues, it's really only the dealer you bought the car from who are gonna go the extra mile.

Sales were ok at TnC when I bought mine, haven't had a service yet, another 2 months till then but I have heard that they have had some sort of re-organisation of staff since I bought mine last year so will have to wait and see. ______________________

Fact is the battery suppliers are paid about £10.00 for a battery same with just about all cars now, as usual a chain breaks at it's weakest link Rolling Eyes

Hi, i had exactly the same problem with my Fr2. It happened after I let my husband touch my car for the first and last time! I make a point of checking that I have locked the car properly and touch wood have not had the problem since. Also I have banned my husband from so much as looking at my car lol Please let the car start!!!!!

Well I've just been to rescue Mrs G , her blonde friends decided to show her how to work the child locks on the fl2, somehow they managed to make the door unclosable Exclamation they pushed the door catch instead of twisting the child lock switch Laughing At work

I said "at least you didn't slam the door while the lock was engaged, as that would have bent something ", they all went quiet Whistle Whistle . Just checked no damage Neutral At work
