Oh, the Kelpies, another Scottish Government folly. Surely the money would have been better spent on the NHS, OAPs, Homeless, Schools etc. etc. rather than 30mt high bits of metal? |

Agree - complete waste of money....and a serious danger as drivers rubber-neck on the motorway. I am astonished they got planning pemission for these- I wonder who got the backhander? |

They are really fabulous close up. You couldn't fail to be impressed and also look amazing at night when lit up. Should generate a fair bit of income in tourism. |

They will be profit makers for the local tradesfolk and bring in large numbers of visitors. Genuinely attractive modern sculpture can be truly beautiful - unlike that monstrosity in Ilfracombe - but even that is a money-spinner for the area. It's in line with the Angel of the North and Gormley's wonderful figures on the beach at Crosby.
