France & essentials to take

Hi Folks,

I have convinced the wife and kids to head to France for the 70th anniversary of D day to do this I have to include a few days at disneyland Paris Confused .

Rough Route is St Malo to Caen, Caen to Paris and back with lots of stop offs.

So my question is what's good to keep in the car for a small tour like this (approx 7 days various hotels)
This will be my first time in France with the LR and looking for any good tips on stuff I must not forget.

Cheers,

Phil

I would suggest a good first aid kit, breathalyser (legal requirement) spare bulbs and leave the boot as empty as possible to get all that cheap wine in!  MY2014 SD4 XS

Breathalyser is not a legal requirement now - they've dropped it. Well, not dropped it but they are no longer fining you for not carrying one. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/road-s...opped.html Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Pop into a tourist office and pick up a local parking disc blue, it allows you to park for free in blue zones.

You need a hi-vis jacket for every passenger which you need to be able to put on before getting out of the car.

The breathalisers have an expiry date so watch what you buy if you do get a pack. The rule was that you had to have at least one so that meant carrying two so that if the police made you use one you still had one Laughing GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

England 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Santorini Black

The article above mentioned a GB sticker, what's wrong with the Euro plates?, do the Frogs put an F sticker on their cars when they come to the UK? I don't think so, then F off. FL2 SD4 Metropolis Auto Santorini Black / ivory completely stock.

If you have ever been to Disney in California or Florida don't bother with Euro Disney. We thought in comparison it was extremely small and dirty and didn't have the same ambience
For those that have done all three they will know what I mean.

Here's a place far more worth a visit for a few days

If your plates carry a country identification on the left then you don't need a separate country identifier, for the UK it is GB for the Channel Island I believe it is GBJ/G/A. fGBM for IOM any other UK country it is still GB, ECOSSE and CYMRU are not legal. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Oh yes they are! From www.gov.uk:

4. Flags, symbols and identifiers
Flags and national identifying letters

You can display one of the following flags with identifying letters on the left-hand side of the number plate:

Union Flag
Cross of St George
Cross of St Andrew (also known as the Saltire)
Red Dragon of Wales

The letters, or national identifiers, you can have are:

GREAT BRITAIN, Great Britain or GB
UNITED KINGDOM, United Kingdom or UK
CYMRU, Cymru, CYM or Cym
ENGLAND, England, ENG, Eng
SCOTLAND, Scotland, SCO or Sco
WALES or Wales
