Seats

If there's one thing I don't like about my Freelander its the seats. Mine only has 6 way adjustment meaning that height adjustment also means a tilt to the base. Added to that the collapsing foam and a highly critical other half means that long distances I find a pain. I have had a look around and even if I go to a HSE Lux, although the driver gets 8 way adjustment, the passenger doesn't. They only get 6 way adjustment. Why is that? Why should the passenger not get the same?
I had a look at the Evoque. I prefer the seats in that but again, it would seem that the passenger doesn't get 8 way adjustment. I don't understand why.
It looks like I'll have to save up for a RRS just to get the seats I'm after...

Could it be possible to fit the driver's seat base from a LHD model?

Hi Past Master,

Considering they must have 8 way adjustment seats that fit the passenger side for left hand drive markets you'd think
that it should be more than possible. It makes me wonder all the more why the passenger should get a rough deal in the first place..

The driver needs to find a comfortable driving position in relation to the steering wheel, pedals and other controls. The passenger doesn't - he just needs to sit there. Hence the additional adjustments for the driver.

Hi Pab,

I agree that the driver gets priority.
However I fail to see why the passenger
Shouldn't get as much adjustment.
FFRR, RRS and every BMW I've had reckons
The passenger can have all the adjustments
So why not freelander and evoque?
