Phoned up stratstone where i bought my FL2 from for a price for a B service. 46000 mile
£430 got the shock of my life soon got the price down to £330 with a bit of haggling but still seems expensive.
Or is this about the going rate?

£400 ish is about the mark, surprised considering where you are that your going to Stratstones when you have Team Valley Land Rover on your door step, never get a bad word about them.

Yes, give Team Valley a call. I used them last time and it was still cheaper to drive up to Gateshead rather than get the service done in London!

HI Markymark, I'm in Stockton and just bought an 07 from Stratstone so guess I have all this to come.......main dealers are ALWAYS over priced, but that does sound VERY excessive.

There's North East 4X4 down Ross road. Isn't a B service just oil and filter? You could DIY. Not difficult? 2008 XS TD4, Sumatra Black, Manual.

Well, I've just had my 07 Td4 auto serviced today, which was the big service, original quote from Stratstone, was £349, but they said they would price match if I produced a quote from another garage, & so they did, all done for £237, which is a result for me, & they gave me a Jaguar as a courtesy car too, which was an absolute flying machine, with paddle shift, now how do I make mine go like the Jag, considering its got the same engine?

6th year B service, including MOT and VAT at a LR main dealer - £335.

Did require some arm twisting.

Ended up in north east 4x4 on ross road, stockton.
Service was £230, needed front brake pads and full set of wipers. Full job done for £330
Definitly recommend them.!!!

Stratstones £219 75000 miles service plus £20 for a courtesy car. Fist time using a main dealer but need it done as just purchased a warranty and needs to be up to date. Cheapest I could find locally.

Just had a 75000 service done at Matford LR - Main dealer in Exeter. £389 inc vat.

Price was high I thought but went to main dealer because still under used LR warranty - bought 9 months ago.

Surprised at cost of oil however - £12.96 per lt. inc vat Castrol A1 5W - 30. Given you can buy this on ebay for <£10 per lt delivered I feel ripped off especially since they charged me for an extra litre which they left in the car and which I never asked for. They charge in 1/10ths of a litre so I was charged for 60 litres. But capacity is only 5.86 litres!!!

Asked them to fix side step which seemed a little loose and they told me I need a new side step - bracket was bent and a bolt had sheered and fixing kit cannot be bought separately!! Quoted cost £858.00. I suggested that cannot be right and after much discussion went away and came back 20 mins later to say you can in fact buy fixing kit separately!!

Also charged for Tunap brake cleaner at £5.4 and Wynns Diesel treatment at £12.60 both inc vat.cleaner.

Going to an independent next time and supplying my own oil.

I went to an indi last service, I'll be going back too for the next service too. Last one was 215 quid for an A service and that included brake fluid change. I got quotes from 5 indies around Huddersfield. Most expensive quote was 380. The lad I went with was the cheapest but he was an LR apprentice trained mechanic. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
Gone MY2010 Freelander 2 Manual TD4.e S, Alaska White.

30,000 service £135. no way am I paying LR stealer prices.
