shudders on shut down

my 07 freelander 2 has just begun to shudder slightly when the stop button is pressed. performance and mpg are fine, I have been told it could be worn dual mass flywheel, clogged injectors or a dirty throttle body. I would like any advise before I start spending any money, thanks

Try here, but basically what you have been told;

As a starter you could add some BG244 to give it a clean.

I would go with dirty throttle body, or broken throttle body

Mine had some teeth missing from the plastic gears - these aren;t available seperately which is why a new TBH was needed Sad
Mine was done under warranty by the garage i bought the car from - the parts are approx £120 and 1/2 hour labour

Did you look at the teeth or did you just clean the flap?

no I didn't look at the teeth, I didn't want to take it apart and not be able to put it back together on xmas eve. my partner would think I did it on purpose to get out of seeing relatives !. when the new throttle body comes I will take the old one apart just to see the problem. if I can repair it I will have a spare.

fitted new throttle body today it has done the trick. fl2 no longer shudders when switch off, only took 30mins to fit. Took the old one apart and sure enough two teeth had sheared off and jammed in the gearing so I wont have a spare now.
