Either that or someone from LR is secretly adding fuel to our cars so we post happy figures on this forum?

I have seem improvements as well recently, I always though cold air gave better fuel consumption due to been denser? At work

Yes that's what I thought, but I've noticed an improvment during this recent warm spell. I don't really like to quote on short journies, but I will, last week on a 160 trip I got 44.8mpg, I was gob smacked!!! OK that's what the computer said, and there's always room for some error there, though over a period of time and high miles you do get a feel for these things.

My miles are sitting at 36.5k since new and my mpg is at 37.2 over that period, that's calculated on miles travelled according to the car and fuel added according to the pump (Tesco for the most part!!) For the mies travlled that includes a number of off road 'outings' the best part of 2k towing the caravan (sorry CG) so all in all that's not too bad.

Great stuff Thumbs Up , more miles per gallon of over priced fuel that finds its way to the coffers of those that we will shall not mention, as it is done to death on other threads and forums. Its all a bit "manual" at the mo, what is the auto doing in this warmer climate fellow "lazy" peeps? SD4 HSE Lux

MPG

Hi All,

Picked up my new baby last week and although the average MPG on the computer has improved it seems unwilling to climb above 27.5mpg.

I realise it will never be as acurate as the good old run her dry, fill her up, and run her dry again, then get out the pencil and paper. But I was expecting better!

The other alf has done a good mix of driving. We have done over 400m in the last 6 days. Confused  TD4 HSE SUMATARA BLACK WITH EBONY, PRIVICY, ADAPT BI-XENONS, SIDE STEPS, FRONT AND REAR LAMP GUARDS, LOAD SPACE PROTECTOR AND DOG GUARD.

TopTrumps - try reseting your mpg before starting off on a journey, it may not be moving much because it is calculating your miles over a longer distance otherwise!

My Auto is happily returning between 32 and 36mpg although short stop start journeys see it drop to about 25mpg - im still happy though!! Very Happy Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Are any of you driving the USA version of this car? I can't get the damn thing to go above 13mpg for anything. I have tried and tried and the only way to make it go above that is if I go on a long trip on the highway.

Thats why no-one in the UK drives the 3.2 petol version. With high fuel prices over here nobody could afford to run one. Laughing Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Australia 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Zermatt Silver

On the subject of the Auto, I did an Land Rover Experience half day this week in an identical Auto to mine, the instructor was when I told him I was getting about 30MPG, said I should be seeing 35-40 Shocked advised me to use command shift & shift up earlier. It was only a few days ago but I'm now seeing 33-35MPG, did see 40+ on a 30 mile countryside trip, in very warm weather.

Mind the LRE car was showing 11MPG, must be all those hills Wink

The LRE was great fun too!

Mike

Just to add my stats

M42 - rush hour (50 mph speed restrictions) I can get it up to 45mpg. Have to use 6gear all the way though and not accelerate much!
