Only in Continentals view, poor in winter. They don't actually state M+S but M.S. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

The Continental 4x4 Contacts on my Freelander 2 have M+S on them. Agree when worn to 3mm or less they are poor in winter but with tread depth of 4mm or more they are OK in snow providing you drive with care.

Do they have M+S because mine didn't they had M.S just to confuse the issue, they do class them as a summer tyre.

Mine are definitely M+S on 235/65/17 108V
Mine are Continental 4x4 Contact which Land Rover class as an All Season tyre on their Approved Tyre Matrix while the Continental Conti Cross UHP is classed as an All Terrain - Sport tyre on the same matrix.

Looking at your photo, it appears the letters spell the start of Cross which doesn't appear on my 4x4 Contacts, so I suspect we're at cross purposes and talking about different versions of the tyre. I'll try and get a photo when there's some light and the tyres are marginally cleaner than they are at the moment.

According to Continentals own www, the Cross Contact UHP is a Summer tyre for use of 5% off road, 95% Road

Switzerland 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Fuji White

Only the 4x4 Winter Contact are winter tyres, all others only all-seasons (according to the law they are winter tires). The difference is the sign "alpine" (mountain with three peaks and a snow flake in it). This marks the real winter tires. MY2013, 2.2 TD4 SE fuji white

Might have been sold a dummy...on rechecking with the dealer it would appear that only the rear tyres were changed 18k miles ago and they have got about 5mm left on them so that means the front pair may have done 4 - 6k more...which means they are not too bad for wear i assume...a local tyre company have said that auto's, which mine is, seem to wear tyre's out a little quicker than manual's..whether that is right or not i cannot say...for the moment then i'll stick with the Conti's given that the only off-roading we do is parking in the multistory at Watford so that her ladyship can go to John Lewis...again!!!
