Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 TD4_e Dynamic Manual Fuji White
2016 New Freelander

Right folks

Been on the phone to a dealer and been told that they are expecting the new Defender out in 2015! They said the Freelander and new Disco will be launched at the same time which goes along the lines that the Freelander will become a baby disco! His own words were he cannot see Land Rover launching three new vehicles is one year. The Defender replacement will be a big thing for Land Rover as it's such an iconic vehicle. Bow down They are speculating the Disco and Freelander will be launched at the same time and can see it being 2016. Also the MY14 Discovery is only approx £240 odd 12 months road tax due to stop start but costs under 40k for the entry spec which still has no leather of fogs Shocked The revised discovery will not be available till March 2014! So personally I cannot see LR introducing a brand new Discovery 6 months after they have launched a revised edition.............. Question Whistle

It has been known for a while now that Freelanders replacement will be launch towards the end of 2015 for the 2016 MY.

You may find that LR launch more than three models in a single year Wink Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

Delivery of the 2014 MY Discovery XS, HSE and HSE Lux starts on 11th November 2013. The order book for GS spec models opens in March 2014 for delivery in Aoril. 2014 Discovery is only a short term model and a new Discovery is on the cards for 2016.

Dealers are the last to know anything, so they just speculate.

It is true in a way about the new Disco coming out in April 2014, but it is just the facelift Disco 4, to be known purely as Discovery hits the show rooms between February and April 2014.

You have the Evoque additions :-

7 Seat version
Convertible
Evoque RS

Range Rover Sport RS

All new disco circa late 2015, to include the Freelander replacement.
Defender replacement 2015/2016

The next few years will be very exiting for LR models. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

The first of the revised Discovery will be delivered to customers starting on 11th November, we're getting 2 at work in November. The GS model will not be available for delivery to customers until April 2014.

While the next few years promise to be very exciting for Jaguar Land Rover I'd treat the dates and details of new models with a degree of caution.

My salesman is honest and says he doesn't know much about the new Freelander, but he's already put my name at the top of the order list already. Top man Thumbs Up 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

What looked like heavily disguised evoques were driving around Halewood today, large areas of factory hidden from prying eyes. The stillages with parts were labelled X761 prototype, the code name for the jaguar crossover vehicle.
We couldn't agree on some of the evoques either, some looked to be quite a bit longer than standard, lots of odd floorpans knocking about too.

Don't want to stray off topic, but how did the day go?

Must have been fascinating to see all the weird and wonderful mystery models floating around. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

The day went flawlessly...well apart from milk Whistle

Lots of signs around the factory that things are happening, the LRE team also claim to have seen a presentation and the 'new' Freelander design, take it with a pinch of salt but they claim it will have a resemblance to the Evoque, which contradicts what others have said.
There was a car, heavily disguised, basically it could have been anything under the plastic but certainly something we weren't to see.

The LRE guys are very likely to have been briefed on the future given that they know what is going on in the factory and will have seen the early preparations for the next model to be built there and are also aware of when production of the current Freelander stops and the next model to be built starts.
