Traffic announcement cancel 2013 XS

Is there any way to cancel the traffic announcements from the steering wheel on a 2013 XS?

Yes there is a way to cancel them, but not from the wheel....you need to go into 'Nav', and then Setup...IIRC it's in a sub menu under TMC, and gives you an Orange box for Travel and another for News. Simply press the 'off' box underneath each corresponding box. Foraging near Gaydon....

This works. I have to 'stab' the mode button rather than pressing and holding it which just changes the mode.

The other ideas of turning off TAs is fine but I want to hear the first bit of the announcement before cancelling it.

Yes, give it a quick stab and it will cancel the TA annoncements. Don't foget the "TA" button on radio console will stop them all together. * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

Bad news. A quick stab of the button does cancel the TAs but it also advances the mode to the next setting (Bluetooth Audio in my case). I can't do anything until my next TA when I'll try a 'press and hold'.

There is no TA button on the radio console.

I think the radio TA announcements are a separate thing to the Sat Nav TMS.

I may be wrong!

Pre 13 models can cancel TA by the red end call button on steering wheel. Have you tried that?

Sorted!

Sorted!

A brief press of either the left or right buttons on the 'mode' switch cancels the TA. Pressing the centre 'mode' button cancels the TA but also advances the mode to the next selection.

Thanks for all the help, everyone.
