Not bothering adding the oil even with its benefits as YF has fully explained.

After reading everything that was discussed about adding 2-Stroke Oil (especially what Yamaha-Fan had to say) I've decided to add the oil from day one. Therefore I cannot say that I've noted improvements but I like how the engine sounds. She started great even when very cold (minus 17 C over the night and minus 8 when I started her). Have kept her outside and she statde better then my Peugeot 407. Hope nothing changes. Matei FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER |

NPinks your reason for ignoring 2-T oil is understood and accepted. But maybe you should also think of your contribution to the air pollution theme, to which you can greatly contribute if you use 2-T oil.

I was completely pursuaded about the benefits of adding 2 stroke oil to diesel as described by the very knowledgeable YF. However, I remain twitchy about how LR would respond if there were any subsequent engine problems. |

I have no startingproblems and the car sounds OK, so I have decided not to ad oil, it costs too much. Nick Jan, I can assure you that I have not come accross any (legal) case in the past 10 years where a car manufacturer or dealer could prove that the addition of 2-T oil has been the cause of the defect under judgement.

Nope, me not adding 2T-oil, FL2 has a 3 year warranty so if anything goes wrong it gets fixed for free. And as I will only have the car for 3 years before I change it I won't benefit from the extra expense. ______________________
