Are they not the same as the 2013my other than a black mask?

As i correctly understand you say that there is no difference between lamps of these models. However i would like to know is it possible to retrofit lamps with signature strip to land rover that has only halogen lamps. I mean will it be only the question of changing the wires or also making bigger adjustments. If so maybe it would be easier to retrofit new led lamps without signature strip?

Thank You very much

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Rimini Red

My installation is a retrofit of signature lights into a 2007 halogen spec car.

I would like to see a picture of the 2014 lights to see if there are any differences, I am running a black grill surround as per 2014 cars but with 2012 lights. The 2012 lights have a darker inner but wouldn't call it black, they look right enough.

I've taken a picture of my 2012 lights and they are (to me at least) black on the inside.

I'll be following this one closely, as I would like to do the same thing. Having a dark coloured car in Scotland without running lights is a bit dodgy

I think the query was headlights not fog lights, I have led bulbs in my fog lights but if the headlights could match that would be perfect, I have the same question,

I thought the running lights on the face lift were in the headlights?

Are you using the larger LED units that have heatsinks / fans on them?

LED / DRL Headlight Upgrade

I have just upgraded my Halogen headlights to the latest 2013 LED / DRL Halogen Headlights. After seeing Wynton's detailed description of how to upgrade the wiring, I knew it was possible. But I didn't have the facilities or confidence to make up the new loom adaptors!
However, I came across this company who have made up the adaptors as a plug and play product.

This has just been installed and works brilliantly. All functions as it should on my 2007 FL2 GS. Including headlight flash.

The company started producing them in December so its a new product and Adrian Cameron of Camerons GT Auto Ltd in York is an extremely helpful guy.

The cost of the adaptors are £249.00. Of course to add to this you will need a pair of new headlights.

So if you, like me want a ready solution, contact Adrian on 01904 610650.

Next project --- Front Bumper upgrade!

That looks superb i love these lights, im picking up my Freelander 2 in a few weeks once i get back from work. I think this has to be a must with these lights. Did you have to programme the car to accept the lights?

Regards

Alan

2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black

Hi Alan.
On my Freelander, we didn't have to program the ECU. Mine is a 2007 GS. I worked with my local Indy dealer, who at first did change program but all this did was to bring on the headlights on to act as DRL's when the ignition was switched on. So reverted back to standard and then the 7 LED's DRL comes on when ignition switched on along with signature strip. The signature strip acts as sidelights when engine is not running. All other headlight functions act as normal, including headlamp flash. I have seen that my FL2 does get noticed more in daylight because of the DRL's (my FL2 is black) which I believe has improved the safety aspect!! Bonus - improved looks and safety.

Looks even better now with facelift bumper. - By the way, I changed the rears as well to LED and they look great, along with facelift tailgate handle.

You'd never know that wasn't a 2007 from the rear - looks great. Thumbs Up

To clarify, i was referring to the new LED CRE headlamp replacement kits (similar to HIDS) - just wondered if anyone had used one - looks as though they are too deep to fit inside the headlamp unit.

Purely out of interest - not sure I'm ready to void my warranty yet (or blind oncoming drivers for the straighty-180 folks here)
