Sat nav problems (keeps resetting itself to Belgium)

Other half uses the car for work and uses the sat nav all the time.

Recently, every time the car is started the sat nav has reset itself to Belgium and we have to go into menu and set it for UK... which is fine until the car is stopped.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but my Sat nav sometimes keeps resetting and going off with a bleep. It will then freeze and only works when the engine is switched off and on again. Confused

Nick had a quirk with his Sat Nav, it would not hold the map direction when you turned the ignition off, replaced a module that would have been Ł1500 if it was out of warranty Shocked p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Thread resurrection....

Our FL2 2013 is doing exactly this...every time you use the satnav it thinks the car is in Brussels .... I reset the satnav to the UK but alas it still doesn’t work...

Is it the satnav unit that has failed? Or the aerial? Think it’s pointless updating the disc but need your thoughts...
Anyone experienced this issue and can tell me how to solve it?
Be very grateful for an answer. Very Happy Very Happy

Sounds as if some sort of circuit board back up battery that keeps part of the system memory powered up after switch off has failed. A bit like the 2032 batteries on computer mother boards that eventually fail and you have to keep resetting the clock. You would need to get the unit out and find the component. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

You lot.... Laughing

If you look at virtually every thread on here, the RRS forum and the D3 forum it appears that the satnav defaults to Belgium but no one has come up with the definitive answer....come on someone must have cured it...

Looks like I”ll have to try and take it apart but not having a degree in electronics may somewhat hinder me.....

Watch out for the wanted post shortly.....
