I've got an S3 and iPad. SWMBO has the iPhone 5 and I find that my S3 is considerably better.

The reason you don't see popups on iPad or iPhone is because they don't support it.

You are choosing to delete all emails from the site which is the best notification method.

I'll see what I can do about a visible notification at the top though
