Don't think they are any better or worse, just slightly quicker to adjust height.

I have an SGS 3 ton trolley jack. I am generally pleased with it although you have to take care when releasing it as it is a bit quick off the mark. It just needs a very gentle initial touch for slow controlled descent to avoid dumping your precious Freelander unceremoniously back on terra-fima and frightening the children.
