Bluetooth not quite right...?

I might be going a bit soft......

When I got my new FL2 about a month ago I'm sure I could navigate up and down the phone menu using the steering wheel arrows/control (on left hand side of wheel)

Now when I try to do that I just change the channel of the radio. I can't seem to navigate the phone menu at all with the steering wheel controls.

Now I'm sure I didn't imagine the functionality before, and I've tried resetting the phone, but other than that, any ideas? Is there some form of 'reset' for the BT?

Any and all advice welcome

You have to select phone first (dash button)

Thanks Wizking. I should have mentioned that in my description, but I do press the phone button first.. That then brings up the phone menu (dialled calls, call lists & so on). It's then that I can't navigate any more.

Wrong side, you can browse the phonebook using the 'Menu Next/Previous' buttons (bottom right on the wheel) Thumbs Up

Depends whether it's a MY13 or earlier one. On MY13 the button is on the left, on older models it's as E Yorkshire said.
MY 13 steering wheel is visually similar to the one on the Discovery/Sport.

Mine seems to do the same - neither of the two steering wheel controls seem to be able to navigate on-screen menus.
The right hand one simply controls the driver information display, and the left hand one always seems to control the radio..

Only able to control the phone using the control on the right hand side of the radio unit itself???

@Boycey
As you have a MY11 model I tried it this morning to be sure, pressed 'phone' on the dash and the button at the bottom right on the wheel scrolls through the phonebook names as said in my previous post.

Thanks all. 'E' mine is a 13MY, so I'm pretty sure it's the LH controls that are meant to do the business, but in fact they don't any more.

I know the dealer will suck air through his teeth and blame the phone, so I guess I need to dig a bit more.

Oh, my mistake, I was going by your little car avatar that says you have a 2011 FL2, you haven't updated your profile yet. Thumbs Up

You're not alone in this one - mine's doing exactly the same (13MY GS); the steering wheel controls just seem capable of operating the entertainment system & driver info screen; no control over the phone.

Only way I can scroll through the phone side of things is with the RH controls on the centre console.
Haven't spoken to the dealer yet, but may raise it as a question. Only issue is that they're based the other side of town so popping in for them to have the inevitable quick look is a bit of an undertaking.

Hi
Similar problem hence this thread.
I have a MY13 GS model.
Bluetooth connection to phone only works when radio is on.
is this normal?
in previous cars Bluetooth connection worked without radio.

thanks in advance.

and another thing.....

On the right hand side of the steering wheel you have the 3 phone buttons. The green 'accept', the red 'decline' and the one that has a graphic of a mouth and sound waves.

I guess this is for voice instructions on higher spec models?

It appears to do nothing on mine, but it's not usual for a manufacturer to fit a useless button. If it really does do nothing, is it simply a question of an unmade connection in the steering wheel? I can't imagine it's a question of missing hardware, or is it another BT module needed?

Any and all advice welcome.

PS: Fanman, I'm pretty sure you have to have the module switched on, but you don't have to have sound of course. If the whole thing is off the BT is off too, I imagine
