United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Barolo Black

Decided today was the day to service the car. It wasn't raining for a change. Started it up to move under the carport and got a horrible noise from the heater blower. Upon investigation I found masses of wet leaves in the squirrel fan. Accessed it under the bonnet with the battery cover removed. Managed to remove all the leaves with a combination of a garden cane to dislodge them, then a vacuum cleaner to suck out the sodden leaves. Turn the squirrel fan a bit and repeat. Took over 30 mins.
Replaced the pollen filter which was also full of leaves. I ran the fan without the filter in and got as much crap out of the system as possible before installing the new pollen filter.
Rest of the service had no real drama. It just reminded me ( and my arms ) how much I hate the oil filter housing. So glad I bought the 27 mm angle head ratchet spanner when I did the first service a few years ago ! Still a PITA to change the filter though......

I made up a longer tool out of a 27mm ring ratchet spanner, cut it in half , then added another spanner which i cut the head off.

Latvia 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Santorini Black

Replaced glow plugs on moms discovery sport 2.2d. Pig of a job, especially getting the sensor on throttle body back in. I remember, it was quite hard on my freelander already. With disco sport, i managed to snap the end of sensor, which fell into intercooler pipe through throttle valve. Removed the pipe, couldnt find the piece, with shaking hands started the car, but it ran all fine, even took it for 30minute trip.

Hi Nigel.
Back in a Rover then, albeit not a R40, quite a few of us have moved onto the FL2 now, i have had mine since 2017, now have another having sold the Tourer, don't forget you can still come to the Nano meets.

Rob has a FL1 which was mine originally then sold on to Devlish, who sold it to Rob (trebor) Scott also had one, Bernard did for a couple of years, so quite a few and more coming on board.

What battery did you fit, also do you have the extra earth on your MY13

I did my Haldex oil change yesterday, also the rear diff and PTU previous few days.

Tyres constantly loosing air so took the plunge and had them refurbished. I am pleased to say I am very happy with the finished articles.

Hopefully the typical before and after pictures come out properly.

Hi Arctic
I had them done by a company called Raw Wheels (https://www.raw-wheels.co.uk/) located on the outskirts of York. I took my car and left iwith them as it takes 2 days for diamond cut wheels. They can do non diamond cut in a day.

Wales 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Zermatt Silver

Well I have solved it... Always wondered where in the World a Zermatt silver Freelander 2 was designed to be camouflaged and yesterday it became obvious. Below you can barely see the Freelander 2 in its natural habitat, almost perfectly camouflaged up on the moors of Devon. Just about see its maw and big ears...

Goes to show though that anyone with a grey/silver vehicle absolutely needs to flick on those lights, be on you before you even knew it... Rolling Eyes
